2024 Swimmer Fees

Payment Terms

• Sibling discount - a 10% discount is automatically applied for multiple swimmers in a family.

• Registration Fees cover coaching costs, facility fees, team swim cap, and t-shirt.

• Payment Plans - Families requiring a payment plan must contact the team Treasurer, Sean Boyle at seanpuffy@gmail.com to arrange installment payment of fees. All fees must be paid in fully by June 1, 2024.

• Refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the East Athens Sea Turtle Swim Team Board. No refunds will be issued after June 1, 2024.

General Information

Swimmer Placement

All swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (1 lap) unassisted by the coaches and with or without a kickboard or noodle. Swimmers are typically grouped by age and ability with coaches determining group placement during the first week of practice. These placements are for the safety of our swimmers and allow the coaches to help your child develop as a swimmer. Your child's placement may change throughout the season, at the coach's discretion. A refund will be given if it is determined by the coaches that your swimmer needs to wait until next season. If you have any questions please email eastathensswimteam@gmail.com.

• Hatchlings: Generally, our beginning swimmers (usually ages 5-8)

• Ridleys: More seasoned swimmers and advanced-beginners (usually ages 8-10)

• Loggerheads: Able to swim all four strokes and working on improving techniques (usually ages 9-15)

• Hawkbills: Our most advanced, experienced, and dedicated swimmers (usually ages 13-18)

Birth Certificate Required
Georgia Recreation & Parks Association requires teams to provide birth certificate documentation for each swimmer. These documents are maintained by the coaches and will be destroyed at the end of the summer, if requested. Please provide 2 copies for each swimmer.

Practice Schedule
Practice will begin on May 20, 2024. Our first week of practice will take place in the evenings. There will be no practice on Memorial day and morning practices will begin on May 28, 2024 for the rest of the season. We practice every weekday, Monday - Friday, throughout the season.

Equipment Needed

• A Team suit - This is not included in the registration fee and must be purchased separately. An online team store will be set up for suit and equipment purchases.

• 2 Pair of well fitting swim goggles - We suggest the brand TYR or Speedo googles which can be purchased at a sporting good store or online.

• Swim Cap (Team cap may be worn and is included in registration fee)

• 1-2 Towels - Please put your name on your towels!!

• One-piece Suit (Girls) - Team suit may be worn at practice.

• Snug Fitting Trunks or Jammers (Boys) - Team suit may be worn at practice.

• Plastic or Metal Water Bottle

• Sweatshirt or jacket for cool mornings

• Suggested/Optional - Kick board

• Families are asked to donate at least one 12 pack of soda or water to be used for meet concessions.

• June 28, 2024 - GRPA District Meet, Frances Meadows Aquatic Center, Gainesville, GA

• July 19 - 20, 2024 - GRPA State Meet, Columbus Aquatic Center, Columbus, GA (Only for those swimmers that qualify at District)
